Getting ready for fall is always my favorite! I love the rich colors, warm fabrics, boots, coats...fall fashion is the best!
The look for hair this fall is TEXTURE! This comes with a good root boost, back combing, and a strong hold hair spray! You can obtain piecey texture with a curling iron for waviness or by using your fingers to hold the separation in place while spraying it. Try a pony tail with height at the crown and front

Volume and loose waves are also a hit this fall. Wrap your hair around the iron and hold it vertical to release a softer curl... or set the curl with a pin vertically to let the hair cool (think invisible hot rollers but vertically placed) This really gives the curl staying power! Let the hair "set" while you do your makeup. Then go back and release the curls. Run your fingers throught the curls for a textured look, or comb the hair with a soft paddle brush for a smoothed out softer style.

MakeUp is always fun in the fall! Warm golds, browns, olives, champagnes...GORGEOUS!!!
Plums are a huge trend this fall...and they are a great way to make green eyes greener! A beautiful color that looks great on all skin tones! Don't forget your nails too!

Two-tone lips are a flirty way to pucker up! Use a copper red with a bit of golden shimmer in the center of your lip to add dimension.Or just a classic red lip is hot for Fall 2010! Also try a gorgeous brown on the outside corners and crease of your eyes, while adding a gold or amber to the center of your lids to really make the eyes pop!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of working with a delightfully adventurous bride! What a beautiful albeit soggy day it was... Amy and Dana's day was absolutely perfect in every way! And I mean that, rain included! I have to say I was skeptical that there wasn't a back up plan. I mean us Southern California's wilt quickly when the precipitation begins, right?! But, a little H2O wasn't about to put a hitch in this couples step. They were incredible! And their wedding was a reflection of them in every aspect. I was converted, in fact brides... I think winter is the new summer!
Oh yah, re: hair and make up. We didn't have a chance to do a preview since we were separated by a couple of states. So the wedding day was it. Makeup was a cinch! Amy wanted a classic look with a lot of lashes to play up her bright blue eyes and a bold lip to add some pop! Now hair, Amy wanted curls...... in the rain. Deep breath in from the stylist. I've done a lot, but this was a first. Not wanting to deny a bride her every hearts desire, I said a quick prayer and got to work. Girls we had curls, in abundance! I'm a gal who laughs in the face of Mother Nature! And would you believe it they lasted all night even while the bride and groom danced in the night rain. Miracle, maybe?! ;)
See for yourself!
XOXO

Hair and makeup by Beauty and the Beach

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
